Talyn documentation
Talyn gives every task its own coding agent in its own cloud sandbox, and helps you get the pull requests merged. These pages show you how to set it up and use it.
QuickstartSign in, connect GitHub and an agent, and start your first session.Sessions and threadsHow sessions, threads and sandboxes fit together.API overviewCreate a token and drive Talyn from your own scripts.
Getting started
- QuickstartSign in with GitHub, install the GitHub App, connect your Claude or ChatGPT subscription, and start your first session.
- Install TalynDownload the desktop app for macOS, Windows or Linux, or use Talyn in your browser at app.talyn.dev.
- Connect an agentRun Claude Code on your Claude Pro or Max plan, or Codex on your ChatGPT plan. How to sign in, add more accounts and pick a default.
Sessions
- Sessions and threadsA session is one task on one branch, with its own agent, chat, diff, terminal and sandbox. A thread works across repositories by starting sessions for you.
- SandboxesEach session runs in its own cloud sandbox. Box sizes, sleep and wake, saved work, internet access, and what to do when a sandbox has a problem.
- Repository setupInstall dependencies, start your dev server and give the agent standing instructions, with .talyn/settings.toml, setup steps, dotfiles and repository instructions.
Pull requests
- The pull request dashboardEvery pull request you have open, across every repository you connect, with the ones that need you pulled to the front. Filters, review requests, and how to add repositories.
- Fix pull requests with an agentSend an agent to fix failing checks, merge conflicts and review comments on a pull request, or have Talyn keep a pull request mergeable until it merges.
- Merge queueQueue a pull request and Talyn merges it when it is ready, updating the branch and fixing conflicts and failing checks on the way.
- Code reviewHave several agent reviewers read a pull request, check their findings, and show you the short list in Talyn. Nothing is posted to GitHub unless you choose Post to PR.
Automation
- SkillsRun your own SKILL.md playbooks on any pull request with a cloud agent, from your repository, from Talyn, or from your computer.
- WorkflowsWrite a rule once and it runs on every pull request in your repositories. When something happens, and these conditions hold, Talyn labels, assigns, comments, runs an agent or queues the merge.
- LoopsRun a prompt on a schedule. Each run starts an agent on your repository, and it opens a pull request when the work needs one.
- SlackStart a session from a Slack message with an emoji reaction, a mention or a direct message. Talyn shows progress as reactions and never posts in your channels.
- MCP serversConnect Linear, Sentry, Stripe or your own MCP server, and every agent run gets its tools. The keys stay with Talyn and never enter the sandbox.
